With much anticipated Covid-19 third wave, the United Democratic Movement notes with concern that the Government has no vaccine rollout strategy in place. They might have started with the Healthcare workers to vaccinate, but there is quite large number of frontline workers that have been left out, being the teachers, security personnel, taxi drivers to name a few.
This is not new because the ANC led government is well known for its negligence. It cannot act fairly before members of communities can resort to demonstration and protest marches which in most cases put their lives in danger from the same government. It is shocking that the government continues with its unsympathetic practice towards citizens.
As winter season is drawing nearer, Dr Zwelini Mkhize and the Covid-19 National Command Council need to go back to the drawing board expeditiously, there is so much at stake and lives are to be saved. The nation is still recovering from the wounds that were caused by the first and second waves of this deadly virus.
Since the nation has been placed on level 1 of lockdown, people have forgotten that this virus is still amongst us, surely if everyone can be vaccinated instantaneously a copious number of lives and businesses can be saved.
The Government needs to take the citizens seriously and stop gambling with their lives. Time for dilly-dally is over!!!
