Ms Thandi NontenjaSixteen days of Activism is launched today in South Africa, innumerable talk shows, and conferences will be hosted by various Government Departments.
One woman is killed every three hours in South Africa. Thus, women face challenges of gender-based violence, poverty, inequality and femicide.
The United Democratic Movement Women’s Organisation (UDEMWO) believes that the nation should hold the Minister of Women, Children and Persons with Disabilities accountable for all social ills that befall women and children under her watch. The scourge Gender-based violence is getting out hand in our country.
This department is constantly changing themes/slogans instead of implementing plans to curb Gender-based violence.
UDEMWO would like to know what has been done regarding implementation of Economic Development since the Women’s Parliament that was held on the 27th of August,2021.
UDEMWO reitates that it is time to walk the talk, less talk, more action. South Africa cannot afford to lose more women at the hands of men, women are the hope of this nation. Something must be done, expeditiously!
