The UDM will not put up with this kind of behaviour because the lack of paved roadways means that inhabitants of Sea Vista’s 7th Avenue are still susceptible to flooding. The broad belt of suffering also includes Polar Park residents in Humansdorp, and after heavy rains, it becomes challenging for Oyster Bay residents to walk on the streets due to improper drainage systems, and the municipality is doing little to address the issue.
“Depriving our people of what is rightfully theirs under national law is unconstitutional, and many wards that are not DA-led are facing rejection in terms of service delivery, such as proper road infrastructure and electricity. The DA cannot be allowed to tackle the ANC at the expense of our people. This is the height of incompetence, and the DA needs to be held responsible for upholding our constitution’s guarantees of service delivery” said Babalo Bunu, Sea Vista Ward 1 Branch Secretary.
The UDM is not surprised by this conduct because we have witnessed similar actions by the ANC’s state money launderers in the past. Where is the funding allotted for these wards going, we wonder? We denounce the DA-led municipality’s violation of South African voters’ rights to service delivery.
The UDM calls on every South African to use their right to vote in order to overthrow the inept DA-led administration in this region. We are weary and dissatisfied that DA representatives tell us there is nothing they can do when we follow up on these concerns. We cannot allow the frequent political squabbles between two incredibly inept political parties, that have no regard for our country, to affect innocent persons.
