The United Democratic Movement Women’s Organisation (UDEMWO) welcomes the departure of the former Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Maite Nkoana-Mashabane. She added no value to the women nor the youth of South Africa.
UDEMWO has written to the former Minister a number of times about issues pertaining to women and children, she dismally failed to address issues such as Gender-based violence (GBV) and many other issues concerning women, youth and persons with disabilities. This clearly demonstrates the negligence of our so-called leaders.
It is evident that she resigned because she did not make it back to the cabinet, perhaps now she doesn’t feel as important, that shows her true colours and that she never loved the job but enjoyed the perks that came with it.
Tax payer’s hard-earned money that could have been used for a good cause, have paid her for nothing since the 30th of May 2019. She will definitely not be missed by South Africans.
Although UDEMWO doesn’t have much confidence in her replacement, especially when it comes to youth issues, we hope that Ms Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will do better and serve the beneficiaries of this portfolio selflessly and be in touch with the reality that happens to the group classified as her Great-grandchildren.
We will be watching her closely!
